YEREVAN, May 24. /ARKA/. Armenia’s Acting Foreign Minister Ara Ayvazyan received on Monday the ambassadors of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries in Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin (Russia), Jonathan Lacôte (France) and Lynne Tracy (USA).
According to the ministry’s press service, the minister and the ambassadors discussed a set of issues related to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in a broad context, regional security and peace.
More precisely, they discussed the situation in the border regions of Armenia in connection with the incursion of Azerbaijani armed forces into the sovereign territory of Armenia.
Ayvazyan presented the latest developments, confirming Armenia’s readiness to resolve the border crisis by political and diplomatic means.
He said any encroachment on the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia is intolerable and stressed that Azerbaijani armed forces must withdraw to their original positions immediately and unconditionally in order to avoid further escalation of the tension.
The interlocutors exchanged also views on the steps to be taken in the current situation. -0-
