YEREVAN, November 15. /ARKA/. The government of Armenia has approved today a plan of measures designed to promote construction of small and medium greenhouse farms.
Deputy Minister of Economics Varos Simonyan said the goal of the program is to help build such small and medium-sized greenhouses, which would comply with modern standards and increase the competitiveness of greenhouse products.
The other goal is to help farmers to increase their incomes. He said the government’s support will be provided to companies by partially recovering their expenses.
According to Simonyan, the cost of the program is estimated at 3.375 billion drams. It envisages an increase in greenhouse production by 3,600 tons per year.
For his part, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan specified that the government is ready to compensate from 30% to 50% of the costs of building greenhouses, if they are built to meet the requirements.
“We have no problems with the export of agricultural products grown in the country, and therefore it is necessary to convey this news to the population as soon as possible,” Pashinyan said. ($1 – 477.46 drams).
