YEREVAN, December 9. /ARKA/. Armenia’s Ministry of Health announced today an increase in the registered number of acute respiratory infections (ARI).
It said the incidence rate compared with the previous week increased on average 1.5 times. More precisely, among children under 4 years old the incidence has grown 1.5 times, among children 5-14 years old – 1.7 times, among citizens aged 15-29 years – 1.4 times, among those aged 30-34 – 1.3 times and among citizens over 65 – 1.6 times.
In this regard, the Ministry of Health pointed out the importance of vaccination against ARI, especially in the context of the coronavirus pandemic.
“Vaccination is the best and most effective means of preventing seasonal flu; it can be done in outpatient clinics,” the ministry said in a statement.
