YEREVAN, October 27. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said today that Azerbaijan does not want a solution to the Karabakh conflict, but its surrender.
Speaking to the nation through Facebook streaming he said this demand had arisen long before the war.
“When we showed flexibility, it was unacceptable for Azerbaijan. If we agreed to something, it was unacceptable for Azerbaijan, because they wanted more,” he said.
The prime minister noted that the Armenian people are ready for a compromise solution to the Karabakh conflict.
“I can say that the Armenian people are ready for painful compromises. But are the Armenian people really ready for the surrender? I believe that the Armenian people are in no way ready for surrender and must find resources to defend their rights,”Pashinyan said.
The Prime Minister stated that it is necessary to find resources in order to make Azerbaijan demand not surrender, but a compromise-based solution to the conflict.
“This is the main problem that until now did not allow the solution of the Karabakh issue, because Azerbaijan was not ready – and even more so now – for compromises,” the prime minister said.
