YEREVAN, July 5, /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and President Armen Sarkissian congratulated today the nation on the Constitution Day.
In his message Pashinyan says an epoch-making development – a popular velvet revolution has occurred in Armenia. “Together with you, we are on the way to establishing the rule of law in Armenia, which is one of the most important goals of our society and people. As you may know, the basic law of our country has been subject to changes after being adopted. They may have been acceptable or not for the people. Today, we have what we have, and it is our sacred duty to unconditionally comply with the Constitution as it is.
Our steps will continue to be exclusively in the constitutional field. Moreover, all eventual encroachments on the constitutional order will be thoroughly and publicly examined. Our struggle and efforts are aimed at ensuring that the rights and freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution do not remain on paper and are realized in full. Proud citizens of the Republic of Armenia, Congratulating you once again on this important holiday, I wish all of us peace, happiness and all the best.
In his congratulatory message President Sarkissian singles out the country’s growing international image
He says it is the right and the moral duty of the citizens to advance their country’s positive image. ‘Constitutional values may become a reality if each of us carries them in himself/herself. It is necessary to think and act for the good of the country, to use the opportunities provided by the Constitution and to protect it,” he says.
According to him, then the country will become better, the citizen of the country more confident and the authorities more responsible. “Together we must continue to build politically and economically harmonious Armenia that will be developing in an atmosphere of trust between citizens and the authorities,” the President’s message says.
He noted that it is not only necessary to live in accordance with the Constitution and laws, but also is the advantage of free people who realize the value of their own and others’ rights. -0-
