YEREVAN, May 3. /ARKA/. As of 11:00 on Sunday, May 3, there were 1,035 recovered COVID-19 patients in Armenia, the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention says in its daily report. In total, 2,386 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 35 deaths have been reported in the country. This means that 113 new infection cases and three new deaths have been recorded since yesterday’s report.
According to the center, 24,177 tests for coronavirus have been carried out in Armenia. Some 1,312 COVID-19 patients are being treated now.
Alina Nikoghosyan, spokesperson for the ministry of health, reports on her Facebook page that three patients with coronavirus died of COVID-19 over one day.
“Regarding deaths, we report that a 79-year-old woman and a 58-year-old man died from the coronavirus. They had concomitant chronic diseases,” Nikoghosyan wrote on her Facebook page.
She noted that however, another patient with confirmed coronavirus died due to another disease. Nikoghosyan reported that the total number of such cases has reached 4.
A state of emergency in order to suppress the spread of the coronavirus operates in Armenia from March 16 to April 14. Restrictions on free movement and certain types of economic activity in Armenia in a state of emergency (previously imposed for the period from March 24 to March 31) were extended until April 12 inclusive.
On April 13, the government extended the state of emergency for another month – until 17:00 on May 14, 2020 inclusive, expanding the list of business areas that are allowed to work again.
