Armenia’s confirmed COVID-19 cases rise to 6661 – four deaths in one day

Armenia lifts lockdown, but keeps public transport banned

YEREVAN, May 25. /ARKA/. As of 11:00 on Sunday, May 24, there were 3,064 recovered COVID-19 patients in Armenia, the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention says in its daily report. In total, 6,661 confirmed COVID-19 infection cases and 81 deaths have been reported in the country. This means that 359 new infection cases, four deaths and 128 recovery cases have been recorded since yesterday’s report.

The center reports that 33 coronavirus-positive people died from other diseases.

According to the center, 50,397 tests for the coronavirus have been carried out in Armenia. Some 3,483 COVID-19 patients are being treated now.

The health ministry reports that the 82-year-old man, the 77-year-old man, the 71-year-old man and the 73-year-old woman who died yesterday had chronic diseases.

The state of emergency, introduced in Armenia on March 16, 2020 and extended to May 14, is again extended until 17:00 on June 13 inclusive.
