YEREVAN, January 14. /ARKA/. Consumer prices in Armenia in December 2020 increased by 3.7% when compared to December 2019, and by 3.4% when compared to the previous month, according to numbers, released today by the National Statistical Committee (NSC).
It said the inflation in January-December last year, compared to the same period in 2019, amounted to 1.2%.
According to the NSC, in December 2020, compared to December 2019, prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 4.9%.
Alcohol and tobacco products prices in December last year compared to December 2019 rose by 10.4%. Prices for clothing and shoes in December 2020 against December 2019 were higher by 0.3%. Household goods, household appliances rose in 2020 December by 3.6% against December 2019.
Health care services rose by 3.9% in 2020 December as opposed to the same month in 2019. Restaurant and hotel prices rose by 1.8%. Also prices for various goods and services grew by 5.5%.
Communications prices in December 2020 did not change compared to December 2019. Recreation and culture prices in December 2020 fell by 0.7% against December 2019.
According to statistics, prices for non-food products in December 2020 compared to December 2019 increased by 3.4%, and compared to November 2020 by 2.3%.
The 2020 budget projected 4.8% growth. It was later revised downward to 7.9%. The inflation in 2020 budget is set at 4% (± 1.5%).
