YEREVAN, January 29. /ARKA/. Armenia’s foreign trade turnover in January-December 2020 dropped by 13.2% from the previous year to about $7.1 billion, according to numbers, released today by the National Statistical Committee (NSS).
In December 2020, compared to November of the same year, the foreign trade indicator surged by 21.3%, but when compared to December 2019, it was down 19.8%. The equivalent of foreign trade turnover in 2020 in Armenia’s national currency was 3.478.6 trillion drams.
Armenian exports in 2020 fell by 3.9% when compared to 2019 to $2.544.5 billion. In December 2020, compared to November 2020, it increased by 22.8%, and compared to December 2019 – the figure was up 8.6%. In dram equivalent, exports in January-December amounted to 1.245.6 trillion drams.
Imports in the reporting period of time stood at $4.559.4 billion, down 17.7% compared to January-December 2019. In December 2020, compared to November 2020, imports increased by 20.6%, and compared to December 2019, they fell by 29.6%. In drams equivalent, imports in January-December 2020 were worth 2.233.0 trillion drams.
According to the National Statistical Committee, Armenia’s economic activity index in 2020 fell by 7.5% compared to 2019. ($1 – 518.16 drams).
