YEREVAN, April 27. /ARKA/. According to the latest official data, the average gross monthly salary in Armenia grew by 9.2% in the first quarter of 2020, when compared to the same time span of 2019.
According to the National Statistics Committee, the first quarter average gross salary stood at 190,136 drams. When compared to February 2020, the figure was up 2.9%, and when compared to March 2019 it was up by 8.6%.
The average salary in the public sector during the reporting period increased more than in the private, although it could not overtake it in absolute terms.
In January-March 2020, compared to the same period in 2019, the average gross salary in the public sector increased by 10.5% to 162,109 drams. In March, compared to February 2020, it remained unchanged, and compared to March 2019, it increased by 9.4%.
In the private sector, in January-March 2020, compared to the same period in 2019, the average gross salary increased by 7.7% to 203,742 drams. At the same time, in March, when compared to February, it was up by 4.1%, and compared to March 2019, it increased by 7.2%. ($1 – 479.67 dram).
