One of the main priorities of Armenia in policy on Nagorno-Karabakh is the return of territories captured by Azerbaijan as Foreign Minister of Armenia Ara Ayvazyan reported.
“As a priority of the Armenian side, Ara Ayvazyan underlined the establishment of Artsakh’s status based on the right of Artsakh people for self-determination, de-occupation of occupied territories by Azerbaijan, creation of conditions for the safe return of Artstakh Armenians to their homes,” the message said.
On November 9, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev agreed to cease the war in Nagorno-Karabakh. About 1,960 Russian peacekeepers with hardware should enter the region for at least five years as the guarantees. According to the agreement, Agdam district should be returned to Azerbaijan until November 20, Kalbajar district – until November 15 and Lachin district should be returned until December 1.
On November 14, Armenia and Azerbaijan started the exchange of the bodies of servicemen killed in the battles in Nagorno-Karabakh.
