YEREVAN, DECEMBER 1, ARMENPRESS. On December 1, within the framework of the 29th OSCE Ministerial Council, Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan met with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, ARMENPRESS was informed from the press service of MFA Armenia.
The interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the dynamic development of the Armenia-EU partnership, exchanged ideas on the expansion of the bilateral agenda.
During the meeting, the issues of regional stability and security were in the center of attention of Ararat Mirzoyan and Josep Borrell.
Minister Mirzoyan emphasized the commitment of the Armenian side to establish peace in the South Caucasus and highly appreciated the EU’s support in this direction. The Armenian FM emphasized that Azerbaijan’s non-constructive position and maximalist ambitions hinder efforts to achieve peace and contribute to increasing the chances for escalation. The need to eliminate the consequences of Azerbaijani aggressions against the sovereign territory of Armenia was emphasized.
The interlocutors attached importance to the deployment of the EU observation mission in Armenia and discussed issues related to its activity.
