Turkey’s main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) leader was attacked on April 21 by a group during the funeral of a Turkish soldier who died along with three other privates on April 19.
Camera footage showed the mobs trying to punch and kick the politician.
Kılıçdaroğlu was later taken to house by the security members to avoid any further attacks.
Four Turkish soldiers who were killed on April 19 during military operations in the Turkey-Iraq border area were laid to rest on April 21.
Six soldiers were also wounded during the operations in the southeastern province of Hakkari, the Defense Ministry said in a statement early April 20.
The ministry had initially announced that two soldiers had been killed but later said that two other soldiers had succumbed to their injuries at a hospital.
The statement said the militants came under heavy fire from Turkish air operations and fire support.
The Turkish military frequently conducts operations against the outlawed PKK — a group listed as terrorist by Turkey, the United States and the European Union — in the area.
The bodies of Kırıkcı, Erhan Çiyapul, Murat Şahin, Şevket Çetin and were sent to their hometowns following a ceremony held at the Selahaddin Eyyübi Airport in Hakkari.
Defense Minister Hulusi Akar, Chief of Staff Gen. Yaşar Güler and Land Forces Commander General Ümit Dündar attended the ceremony.
