YEREVAN, DECEMBER 13, ARMENPRESS. A group of young people held a demonstration in Freedom Square in Yerevan amid the ongoing Azerbaijani blockade of Nagorno Karabakh.
The demonstrators walked to the UN office to voice about the humanitarian disaster caused by Azerbaijan.
The demonstrators addressed the international community with a letter handed over to the UN, asking to refrain from double standards and condemn the inhumane conduct of Azerbaijan. They asked the international community to utilize all instruments to prevent Azerbaijan’s criminal actions of ethnic cleansing.
“Thousands of people, including children, are unable to return to their homes. This Azerbaijani state-sanctioned provocation, held under fake environmental pretexts, is a consistent step aimed at the exodus of Armenians from Artsakh. They have one goal, to create unbearable conditions for life, to pressure the Armenians of Artsakh and force them to abandon their homeland. This is an explicit violation of international law and humanitarian law, furthermore happening right before the eyes of the civilized world,” reads the letter.
