YEREVAN, May 17. /ARKA/. The government of Armenia approved today its plan of actions for 2019-2023.
On the economic side, the government plans to eliminate obstacles for small and medium-sized businesses, to improve the business environment, to assist in the technical re-equipment of private sector enterprises and to coordinate the assistance provided to Armenia by the EU.
In the field of defense, the government plans to take steps to develop the command and control systems of the Armed Forces, to increase the efficiency and safety of combat duty, to improve technical equipment, to develop the military-industrial complex, and to expand international cooperation.
On the financial side, the government plans to improve the public funds management system, to automate the calculation of expenditures for programs included in the state budget, to reform the Tax Code.
In the energy sector, the government plans to take measures to liberalize the market, to extend the operation and to improve the efficiency of the second power unit of the Metsamor NPP. Also, to develop a project for the construction of a new NPP.
In the field of transport, communications and information technologies, the government’s plan includes creation of a National Venture Fund, introduction of information technologies into the system of regular passenger transportation, development of new technical inspection rules for vehicles and switching to an electronic platform, improvement of the quality and safety of railway services. Steps will be taken to expand the geography of flights and increase the number of airlines and also modernize digital television.
In the health sector, the government will work to modernize regional medical centers, to advertise healthy lifestyles, to increase the availability of medical services and preventive measures against infectious diseases.
On the foreign policy side, the Armenian government plans to continue protecting the country’s sovereignty, to develop international relations on the principles of mutual benefit and equality, to strengthen cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats, to attract foreign investment. The government also intends to develop cooperation for building international and regional security. -0-
