YEREVAN, March 3. /ARKA/. In February 2021, consumer prices in Armenia were up 5.3% compared to February 2020, and up 0.6% from the previous month of 2021, according to the official data, released today by the National Statistical Committee (NSC).
Consumer prices in January-February 2021 were up 4.9% from the same months of 2020, it said.
According to the NSC, prices for food products and soft drinks in February 2021 were up 7.8% compared to February 2020, and up 0.6% compared to January of this year.
Alcohol and tobacco products rose in prices by 8.7% from 2020 February and by 2.4% from January 2021. Prices for clothing and footwear increased by 5.2% from February 2020 and by 1.1% from January 2021.
Utilities grew by 0.6% from February 2020 and dropped by 0.4% from January 2021. Household goods and appliances rose in prices by 6.9% and 1.3% respectively. Healthcare services grew by 5.6% and 1.1% respectively, transportation prices – by 7.2% and 0.5% respectively , communications services rose in prices by 0.9% and 0.4% , education services – by 2.1% , restaurant and hotel prices by 2.2% and 0.3% respectively.
Prices for non-food products in February 2021 compared to February last year increased by 6.7%, and by 1% compared to January 2021. Prices for services grew by 1.6%, and by 0.1% respectively.
The Armenian government projected 3.2% growth for 2021. Inflation is projected at 4% (± 1.5%). The Central Bank’s GDP growth for 2021 is within 2%. -0-
