Prime Minister Najib Miqati met Tuesday with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken on the sidelines of the climate summit in Glasgow.
The meeting was attended by Environment Minister Nasser Yassine and Lebanon’s ambassador to the United Kingdom.
In a TV interview, Yassine stressed that “we need to rebuild confidence between Lebanon and the Gulf countries.”
“We are counting on an Arab effort,” the minister added, noting that “Arab support had contributed to resolving a lot of Lebanese crises in the past.”
He added that Information Minister George Kordahi’s resignation is “one of the options” to resolve the diplomatic crisis with the Gulf countries, stressing that “there is a need to start a dialogue with Saudi Arabia on which we can capitalize to resolve the crisis.”
