YEREVAN, November 5. /ARKA/. On November 3, Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan received a delegation of members of the European Youth for Recognition of Artsakh Independence program initiated by the European Office of the Armenian General Benevolent Union, current and former EU deputies and foreign journalists, the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry reported.
Welcoming the guests, Minister Mnatsakanyan noted that the visit of such a representative delegation in this difficult period for Artsakh is extremely important as an expression of support and solidarity towards the Armenians of Artsakh.
Mnatsakanyan informed the participants about the course of the large-scale aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan against Artsakh, which is accompanied by war crimes and actions aimed at the physical extermination of the Armenians of Artsakh.
The minister provided detailed information on the facts of deliberate arson of forests with the use of prohibited weapons by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, along with constant shelling of civilians and missile attacks on peaceful settlements and civilian infrastructures.
The Foreign Minister drew the guests’ attention to the destabilizing role of Turkey, which is directly involved in the hostilities conducted by Azerbaijan, which is expressed in its recruitment of foreign terrorist fighters from the Middle East and their deployment in the conflict zone.
“Azerbaijan has become a center of terrorism in the South Caucasus, a state sponsoring terrorism,” Mnatsakanyan stressed.
Speaking about the ceasefire agreements reached with the mediation of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries, the minister noted that Azerbaijan’s evasion from fulfilling its obligations once again proves the latter’s inability to resolve the conflict peacefully.
The head of the Armenian Foreign Ministry answered numerous questions from the meeting participants. Answering the question about the further development of events, Minister Mnatsakanyan emphasized: “This is a war for freedom.”
