BEIRUT: Coronavirus cases are on the rise. A Lebanese woman, flying from the UK to Lebanon, tested positive for coronavirus, bringing the total number up to 16.
In an attempt to minimize the spread of the pandemic outbreak, Minister of Public Health Dr. Hamad Hassan issued a statement concerning precautionary measures such as avoiding crowded areas or traveling.
“The World Health Organization announced the coronavirus to be a global threat uncontrollably escalating in most countries of the world. Safeguarding public safety as well as citizens’ health includes limiting traveling abroad, especially to countries witnessing a high number of epidemic cases,” Hassan stated.
Hassan emphasized that the only way to limit the expansion of the infectious virus is by postponing any unnecessary religious, sports, cultural, or touristic activities that involve engaging in huge crowds.
