The Suara newspaper reported that a gunshot was heard from inside the Criminal Investigation Agency building, followed by another round. It is presently unclear whether both shots were fired by the attacker or whether the police had to fire back, the news agency added.
Gunshots have been heard at the Indonesian national police headquarters in the capital Jakarta, local media reported Wednesday.
According to the local broadcaster TV One, one person was found dead at the scene. Another TV channel – Major TV – said the dead body found on the premises was the shooter. Per the broadcaster, the perpetrator was wearing a black veil and long black clothes.
The police have since cordoned off the area and blocked traffic. No details about the identity of the shooter have been disclosed yet.
