YEREVAN, August 17. /ARKA/. Today there is no corruption in Armenia, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated at a rally in Yerevan on Friday.
“However, this does not mean that there are no officials in Armenia who do not take bribes. This only means that there are no corrupt officials among the high-ranking government officials I guarantee it personally,” he said.
He said also that in the near future the authorities are preparing to solve a number of very important tasks.
“One of them is to increase the efficiency of the public administration system, since this system continues to inefficiently spend a huge part of the state budget. We believe that there should not be 17 ministries in Armenia, and their number should be significantly reduced, as well as other state agencies,” he said, noting that for the implementation of such projects at this stage the most important task is to attract new investments.
“For this, I appeal to all Armenians across the globe with a proposal to come to Armenia and make investments,” Pashinyan said.
According to the Prime Minister, over the past few years the previous authorities alleged that many negative phenomena occurring in the country are connected with Russia or other foreign policy players.
“The corrupt authorities tried to put responsibility for their crimes on external centers, arguing they were not guilty of that, and that external forces did not allow them to be not corrupt. And today, when they are on their way to prison, they call Russian officials and declare that developments in Armenia are against Russia, that the fight against corruption in Armenia is actually a fight against them. I say, do not make such calls, they will not save you, because there are no naive people in Moscow,’ Pashinyan said. -0-
