The U.S. and the leaders of the European Union are in contact with Lebanese officials to avoid the government’s “collapse,” al-Joumhouria said.
Informed diplomatic and political sources told al-Joumhouria, in remarks published Monday, that “so far, there are no indications about the government’s or any minister’s resignation.”
The sources said the government’s resignation, without completing the needed missions, would be a “negative” step.
They questioned the government’s ability to achieve the required tasks.
“Some parties are capable of freezing the government’s work, the way Hizbullah and Amal’s ministers did,” the sources added.
