YEREVAN, March 19. /ARKA/. Armenia’s Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan told journalists today the new Tax Code that will be sent to the consideration of the parliament soon, will have a positive impact on businesses.
He said this is the Tax Code that was expected by the businesses. “The package of tax changes is quite voluminous; it raises a great deal of business and taxation-related questions. Discussions will soon begin in the National Assembly,” he said.
According to him, the package contains many details on which consensus was reached during discussions in the government.
The draft law on amending the Tax Code was approved by the Cabinet on March 7. In particular, it calls for cutting the number of tax regimes from five to three, exempting entrepreneurs with an annual turnover of up to 24 million drams from taxes and increasing excise taxes on non-alcoholic beverages and tobacco products.
