https://www.plenglish.com-Moscow, Nov 9 (Prensa Latina) Russian President Vladimir Putin and his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, have expressed concern over the large-scale fighting between Armenia and Azerbaijan over Nagorno-Karabakh, the Kremlin informed on Sunday.
During a telephone conversation, Putin and Macron referred to the alarming increase in Syrian and Libyan extremists in the conflict that started in that mountain region on September 27, the Presidential Press Service said.
Both statesmen also spoke out for strengthening cooperation against terrorism, and condemned that scourge in all its possible forms, the same source said.
Putin informed Macron the details of the steps taken by Russia to seek an immediate end to the military conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh.
The presidents of France and Russia confirmed their willingness to continue their mediating efforts, included their status as co-chairs of the Minsk Group, which is sponsored by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
