YEREVAN, March 11. /ARKA/. Ryanair Air Company, taking into account the Italian government’s decision to close the country for quarantine because of the new coronavirus, has suspended all flights between Armenia and Italy until April 8, the air company reports on its official page in Facebook.
Italy is now distinguished among the world’s countries for the quickly spreading infection with COVID-19. There are 9,172 infected people in Italy now, the coronavirus has already killed 463 people in the country. The Armenian foreign ministry addressed today Armenian citizens in Italy urging them to return home as soon as possible.
“All the passengers wanting to return home can change for free their flights for earlier flights, which will be operated until March 13 midnight,” the company reports. It also says that those passengers whose flights have been canceled can apply for a full refund or reception of a deposit payment to their account, with which they can pay for the purchase of other tickets for Ryanair flights within 12 months.
The first and the only case of COVID-19 in Armenia today was recorded on the night of March 1 – a repeat test of a 29-year-old Armenian citizen, who arrived in Yerevan from Tehran on February 28, showed a positive result. In this case, the wife of the man who accompanied him, the test was negative. 31 people who had contacts with a sick citizen were isolated in a hotel in Tsaghkadzor.
