Baku / 07.12.19 / Turan: On December 6, during a meeting of the intergovernmental commission on the TRACECA project in Baku, a skirmish occurred between the Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov and the Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration of Armenia Armen Simonyan.
Simonyan in his speech said that he did not understand some of the events included in the meeting program. In particular, he was wondering why the conference participants had to visit the Honorary Burial Alley in Baku? (visit to the grave of Heydar Aliyev – ed.)
These questions aroused indignation of Jabbarov, who said that the TRACECA project became possible, including the active work of Heydar Aliyev. According to Jabbarov, the Azerbaijani side, in drawing up the cultural program of the event, proceeded from this.
Going on the attack, Jabbarov accused the Armenian side of erecting a monument to Garegin Njdeh in Yerevan and invited the Armenian delegation to visit the Heydar Aliyev Center to get acquainted with the history of Yerevan. “You will learn a lot of new things that you cannot read about the history of the Irevan khanate, the history of the founding of the city of Irevan,” said Jabbarov.
