Baku/21.06.21/Turan: Acting Party Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s “Civil Contract” won the early parliamentary elections on June 20 after counting votes from all 2008 polling stations.
According to the CEC of Armenia, after counting 1 million 281 911 ballots, Pashinyan’s party gained 53.92% (687 251), the bloc of ex-President of Armenia Robert Kocharian “Armenia” – 21.04% (268 165).
The “I Have the Honor” bloc got 5.23% (66,633), the “Prosperous Armenia” party – 3.96% (50416), and the “Republic” party – 3.04%.
“Enlightened Armenia” – 1.22% (15,557), Armenian National Congress – 1.54% (19,647).
Thus, ex-President Robert Kocharian did not manage to overthrow the Pashinyan government.
By and large, this is yet another defeat for Russia and the pro-Russian forces in Armenia.
