The increase in the minimum pension from January 1, 2019 by 40% up to 25,000 drams embraced more than 86,000 people, Labor and Social Affairs Minister Zaruhi Batoyan told a news conference today, convened to sum up the outgoing year. She said the pensions will further increase by 10 percent starting January 1, 2020.
Earlier she said that in 2020 the minimum pension will be increased from 25,500 drams to 26,600, while the base pension (used to calculate the amount of social and labor pensions) will be increased to 18,000 drams from the current 16,000 drams.
She said also that the amount paid for each of the first ten years of labor record will be raised from 800 to 950 drams. According to her, the increase will affect 33,600 military and 468,700 labor pensioners. ($ 1 – 477.51 drams).
