YEREVAN, September 8. /ARKA/. Armenia’s State Revenue Committee (SRC) said today its officers had recently uncovered another crime against the country’s economic security.
It said a DAF truck, driven by A.P., entered the Bagratashen customs checkpoint with a fake invoice, according to which, the goods purchased in Russia and imported into Armenia were hydrofuse made from sunflower oil.
After searching the truck customs officers found under the bags with wheat bran, more than 6 thousand liters of SINTEC, GAZPROMNEFT, ROSNEFT and ROLF engine oils.
The SRC said a criminal case has been launched and the truck and the goods were confiscated. An investigation is underway to determine the circle of persons involved in the criminal chain, as well as the final amount of damage caused to the state.
A suspect or accused of an alleged crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty according to a court ruling that has entered into legal force, in accordance with the procedure established by the Criminal Procedure Code of Armenia.
