https://www.azatutyun.am/-The ICRC stated: “As a result of diplomatic efforts to find a humanitarian consensus among decision-makers, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) on Monday transported loads of wheat flour and essential medical supplies for the needy people through the Lachin Corridor and Aghdam Road.”
“We are extremely relieved that many people who rely on humanitarian aid will finally receive the support they need in the coming days,” said Ariane Bauer, ICRC Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia. “Health facilities do not have medical supplies. People stand in line for bread. They are in urgent need of aid through regular humanitarian deliveries. This agreement has allowed our teams to resume this vital work.”
According to the report, the ICRC has held talks with decision-makers in recent weeks on options for receiving aid through various routes, including the Lachin Corridor and Aghdam Road. “On Monday, the operation involved two trucks delivering goods through Lachine Corridor and Aghdam Road.
We hope this consensus will allow our humanitarian convoys to resume access today and in the coming weeks so that we can provide regular aid to those who need it. Our goal is to reach out to those in need, in line with our fundamental principles of neutrality, impartiality, and independence,” said ICRC Europe and Central Asia Regional Director Ariane Bauer.
