Turkey forcibly returned 226 undocumented Afghan immigrants who had taken refuge in the country, DHA news agency reported.
The immigrants were deported back to Taliban-controlled Afghanistan via flights from the western city of Izmir on Friday, DHA said.
Turkey has become one of the main routes for people fleeing Afghanistan after the Taliban seized control of the country last summer. It also hosts almost 4 million Syrian refugees who fled the civil war there.
Turkey has returned a total of 18,256 illegal immigrants from Afghanistan since flights to the country were resumed at the end of January, the Turkish Interior Ministry said on June 8.
