The Turkish Interior Ministry lifted the quarantine on 247 places across 54 provinces on Monday as the country has been recording a lower number of new coronavirus cases since last week, Diken news outlet said.
It said 92 places were still under quarantine.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan earlier said Turkey’s epidemic had begun to reach its plateau and the government was seeking to return to business as usual after the end of the holy month of Ramadan in late May.
Turkish Health Ministry said the number of people who have died from the novel coronavirus in Turkey had- risen by 61 in the last 24 hours to 3,397.3.
Meanwhile, the overall number of cases rose by 1,670 to 126,045, and a total of 63,151 people have so far recovered from COVID-19.
