https://arka.am-YEREVAN, March 26. /ARKA/ Armenia expects that Turkey’s rhetoric will not be aimed at increasing regional tensions. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said in an interview with Greek publication Kathimerini Daily.
“Turkey is a regional player, and it is natural to expect it to have a balanced position on various developments in the region. No less attention is paid to Turkey’s official rhetoric, which can both contribute to and jeopardize the processes. On the other hand, Armenia expects that Turkey’s rhetoric will not be aimed at increasing regional tensions, but will contribute to the development of dialog and cooperation in the region,” Pashinyan said.
He pointed out that Armenia and Turkey have started the process of normalization of relations, which aims to establish diplomatic relations between the countries and fully open the borders.
“As part of this process, an agreement has been reached to open the Armenian-Turkish land border for citizens of third countries and persons holding diplomatic passports. So we really believe that the realization of this agreement will have a positive impact on the regional dynamics as well. I must say that the developments between Greece and Turkey once again prove that it is possible to overcome differences and form a mutually beneficial agenda of cooperation between neighbors,” the Prime Minister said.-0-
