https://news.am-Markus Haefliger, an investigative journalist in the Swiss media (Tagesanzeiger.ch, and 24Heures.ch), has made noteworthy disclosures about the significant role played by the Azerbaijani state oil company SOCAR in Azerbaijan’s recent war against Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), the funding of the Azerbaijani armed forces with the latest military equipment, as well as the anti-Armenian propaganda.
According to Haefliger, three-thirds of SOCAR’s revenues are generated in Switzerland, from where the Azerbaijani regime’s recent war against the Armenians was funded.
On November 9, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a joint statement on a complete cessation of hostilities— which Azerbaijan had launched on September 27—in and around Artsakh. Accordingly, Russian peacekeepers are deployed in the region to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire and the cessation of hostilities. But this statement also stipulates the handover of part of Artsakh lands to Azerbaijan.
