Red carpet hair is an eternal study in balance: too done and the look reads overwrought, but slapdash can easily skew more messy than romantic. For a lesson in the art of the perfectly harmonized tie-back, look to Emma Stone, who, for the 10th Annual Governors Awards in Los Angeles, opted for a softly wound knot characterized by a slew of escapist wisps.
Secured by hairstylist Mara Roszak—who took to Instagram to assure followers that the holiday-ready moment is easily executable—Stone’s rubicund lengths struck a confectionary chord, glossy strands too short for inclusion left loose to frame her face, some splayed prettily down the back of her neck. The soft styling was reminiscent of a modern-day Disney princess, and offered a further dousing of present-tense by a pressing of gaze-encasing sterling. Just add an assemblage of dainty earrings and an innately glowing complexion, and your seasonal aesthetic is sorted.
