The officers reported that the army has dispatched a large number of troops and heavy military equipment to Syria’s Badiyeh (desert) in Southern Deir Ezzur, and restored sustainable security to vast regions from the ancient town of Palmyra (Tadmur) in Eastern Homs to the town of Albu Kamal in Southeastern Deir Ezzur.
They went on to say that the army further drove terrorists out of regions that stretch from Humeimeh in Southwestern Deir Ezzur to al-Wa’ar Dam and the border region with Iraq, from T2 Oil Pumping Station to T3 Oil Pumping Station and the borderline between South of the town of Albu Kamal in Deir Ezzur and the US-run al-Tanf region in Southern Homs.
They further said that the army’s strong presence in Badiyeh has foiled the plot hatched by the US military and its allied militants to help the ISIL terrorists move into the region.
The officers said that the ISIL has recently conducted an attack on the army strongholds in Syria’s Badiyeh via the al-Tanf at border with Iraq and with the backup of the US forces.
In a relevant development on Tuesday, the army men managed to advance against ISIL in a vast region some 45km wide and 60km long in Eastern Homs after purging Ba’ar Atshan, Wadi al-Lawizeh and Tal Shadid regions of terrorists.
The army men further managed to reinvigorate security of a large region between T2 Oil Pumping Station in Southwestern Deir Ezzur and T3 Oil Pumping Station in Eastern Homs and between Humeimeh and al-Wa’ar Dam up to the borders with Iraq.
The strategic Humeimeh and T2 station are now fully safe and secured.
